I don't have any children (yet) - but I do have two completely amazing dogs...
My life would be empty without them...

 

I heart the sunset every day...

Growing up in Denmark you learn to appreciate sunlight. 6 months out of the year - you are lucky if you see a blue sky. The rest of the time it's raining - aaaaah - I miss Denmark and all it's gloominess. Now I live in Idaho where the weather is so picture perfect. The sky is always blue - it get's cold - but not in the Danish-bone-chilling way and you can count on sunshine in the summer. I am not a fan! I miss my cloudy days and rain, drinking tea indoors and excuses to wear rainboots.

But I always love the sunset here. It sets in my livingroom every night and it will never get old.

Hello my lovelies... I hope you enjoyed the holidays! We loved them!

I am excited for 2011... I know this will be the best year ever! I have some projects up my sleeve and some exiting new photography adventures planned - stay tuned for exitng things to come!

snow dogs

I love my dogs...
I love snow...

When you put the two together: snow + dogs = awesomeness!!! 

...now that I look at these there is only one dog... most likely Java is somewhere in the background digging a big hole!

tokyo souvenir

Returned from Tokyo with my heart full of memories and my camera full of pictures... What an exciting time I had...

Now it is time for processing both impressions and pictures! Here a first few processed of many to come.

that magic time of day

There is a certain time of day that is completely magic in my living room. If you have ever visited me at that specific time - you will know what I am talking about - mainly because I can't shut up about it. Right now that magic time is just around 7.15 PM... It gets earlier and earlier every day and I am always looking forward to the magic light coming through my (now washed) windows... It hits the ceilings and the walls and bounces around and cast crazy shadows and beautiful light all over... love love love

what did Marcy teach you?

When I was in photography school I met one of the most inspiring people you can ever meet. Marcy taught me so many things... how to cover you photos in bees wax, how to think outside the box and how to trust in your own ability to make art. But the most important lesson I learned from Marcy was also the most simple of all lessons and to this day I apparently still haven't learned!

Always bring your camera with you!

So last night as I was walking my dogs the most beautiful and powerful ligthning storm started...We sat there for a good 45 minutes and just watched it - it was amazing - except that all the time I was bitching about not having my camera. My wonderful husband offered to go home and get it for me - but I just knew that the moment he would come back with it - the lightning would be over... It is kinda like when you wait for the phone to ring - it never rings...

The storm was still going strong when we got home - so I set up the camera and was lucky to get a few shots in before it ended -Gosh! I really love lightning!

So really! I think it is about time I start to listen to Marcy...

best day ever

8 our wedding day in 6 minutes...

This was the compromise... I couldn't take my own wedding pictures - so I set my MarkIII up with a timer and took a picture every 5 second the whole day... Obviously I didn't pay much attention to the exposure during these 8 hours... A few adjustments here and there (after a lot of champagne) and some Lightroom magic - and it turned out quite decent!

You might notice the 2 photographers running around like mad people. THat is Josh and Anna - more about those two later on... Looking at them in this video might make you realize exactly how hard work wedding photography can be!

the flowers

My wedding flowers were just as I wanted them. Simple and beautiful. We had over 100 different antique bud vases - spread along a long table that seated all the wedding guests.It was perfect! I got the flowers from the best flower shop in Boise; Boise at its best - and I couldn't have been happier.

I also fell completely in love with the Billy Balls (The yellow ball-like flower). I chose it for the boys' boutonnieres and they looked fun and not very flowery at all (which I am sure my husband appreciated as I had already put him in a pink tie).
