As I am finishing up the editing of my best friends wedding - I wanted to share this picture with you...

WHY?

-Because it makes me happy!

This pictures also makes me want to discuss something that I have thought about for a while... 

I recently heard about a couple who banned their guests from photographing during the ceremony... At first I thought; 'how harsh' - but thinking a bit more about it - and photographing my friends wedding from a highly unusual angle (I was also IN the wedding) - I can actually relate to this...

Many of the guests at a wedding these days are watching the entire ceremony through their cell phone screens or point-&-shoot camera screens... I think this is such a shame, as most cell phone and point & shoot pictures rarely will do a beautiful wedding justice... But the real reason that this is such a shame is that you will miss the ceremony & the real reason you are there...

So the next time you are at a wedding... why don't you put down your camera phone and let the photographer do their job?

I don't have any children (yet) - but I do have two completely amazing dogs...
My life would be empty without them...

This is Carl! He is Special - not just because he is an amazing kid - but also because he is my best friend's little boy. I have known Carl's dad since I was 15 and I just love him, his wife and now little Carl to pieces!

Hello my lovelies... I hope you enjoyed the holidays! We loved them!

I am excited for 2011... I know this will be the best year ever! I have some projects up my sleeve and some exiting new photography adventures planned - stay tuned for exitng things to come!

snow dogs

I love my dogs...
I love snow...

When you put the two together: snow + dogs = awesomeness!!! 

...now that I look at these there is only one dog... most likely Java is somewhere in the background digging a big hole!

that magic time of day

There is a certain time of day that is completely magic in my living room. If you have ever visited me at that specific time - you will know what I am talking about - mainly because I can't shut up about it. Right now that magic time is just around 7.15 PM... It gets earlier and earlier every day and I am always looking forward to the magic light coming through my (now washed) windows... It hits the ceilings and the walls and bounces around and cast crazy shadows and beautiful light all over... love love love

my life as a domestic goddess

flower + yeast + water + salt + honey = total awesomeness when eaten fresh out of the oven with Danish butter.

balloonify my world

I LOVE balloons... all kinds and colors. I love them for photoshoots because they always make people happy... and they have color and they remind me of playing with my brothers when I was a kid... Hot air balloons are no different to me. They are big glorified beautiful hovering blobs of color on the sky. The make me happy - they make me feel like a child and I just want climb in one of those baskets with a bottle of champagne and sing 'take me to the moon'... I do not know what the alcohol policy is on a balloon-craft - and I don't even think they look like they are that comfortable to ride in - but I do think that champagne is the only appropriate drink for a balloon fare...

A few weeks ago I got up ridiculously early to see the balloons take of at the Boise Balloon Festival. I met up with my good friend (and completely awesome Photographer) Nate from Minneapolis - who was in town to shoot a wedding. We ran around like little kids among 100's of other photographers and snapped away... 

My favourite photos almost always has something to do with the way the sun is in the sky... I love it when the sun just breaks through in the morning (although I am rarely awake to experience that) and I love love love it right before the sun creeps back down behind the horizon and let the moon take over.

I don't know if we can handle more cuteness this week - and it is only Tuesday...

  

This a collection of prints i recently made. They were all printed on 16x16 lustre paper, gallery wrapped and hung in a matrix as seen in this picture... It looks so so awesome (and am not only saying that because I love these kids to death).
