Congratulations Thomas Moore...

Soooo... I have this friend - we went to photography school together back in 2008. He is one of those guys that equally challenge and inspire you - and now there is proof that that statement is correct!

Last week  Thomas Moore won  The “emerging member” category in The Australian Institute of Professional Photography's (AIPP) Epson Tasmanian awards!  I am so happy for Thomas who always works really hard to be the best he can be - in every aspect of life!  I can't wait to see how he will do next year...

If I were you - I would definitely check out Thomas' website for some WOW and Inspiration! There is no doubt that this guy knows what he is doing with his lights.

Sweet Sweet Memories!

Right now - as I am writing this - about 100 people is gathered at the College of Technology in Missoula, Montana. Exactly one year ago I was there...

 I was one of those 100 people starting the most amazing adventure of my life (which a pretty bold statement from someone who lived almost 5 years in Afghanistan!). I remember exactly who I sat next to at the first introduction - I remember meeting all these new people - and I remember that I didn't have a clue what I was getting myself in to.

But boy, am I glad I did!

Attending Rocky Mountain School of Photography's Carreer training program is without a doubt the best decission I have ever made... And trust me - I make a lot of good decisions on a daily basis :)

If it made sense I would do it all over again! I miss everything about last summer. I miss the people, being totally submerged in photography, the amazing teachers, Missoula, the Coffee, the friends I made.

So today 100 new people are sitting in that room - full of excitement and expectations! To all you new RMSP students;  Don't fear it - don't fight it - just ENJOY it - it will be the ride of your life!

One Year Ago

One year ago today I got in the truck (AKA the Black Beauty) and drove from Idaho to Montana! Who would have known that spending five months in a photography school in Missoula would change my life to the extend it did and still does today?
I LOVE Photography - and I can't imagine my life without it... And now I can't imagine my life without the people I met at RMSP last year. In a few days a whole new group of people are starting the experience of Summer Intensive at RMSP. I am exited for every single one of them but also a bit jealous and can't help but to sit here and wish that I was the one doing all that all over again!!!

School's out!

The last 5 months I spent in Missoula, Montana studying at Rocky Mountain School of Photography (RMSP). I can honestly say that it has been the best summer ever! 

RMSP's "Career Training program offers a complete professional training curriculum. It consists of three sessions of immersion-style courses over a 20-week period. These courses provide the education, opportunity and environment for you to focus on learning the craft of photography while gaining the confidence and know-how required to make it a career. Students include those wanting to start or refine a full-time photography business as well as artists developing their work. All of the instructors in the Career Training program devote themselves to teaching and sharing the tools used in their own success as photographers."

The little snippet above is from RMSP's website and I can only say one thing... TRUE! I have learned more this past summer than I ever thought possible...

I always loved photography... I always had an eye for it... I always took good pictures... Or so I thought! I am almost embarrassed now of the amount of crappy pictures I have posted on Flickr... Luckily the exoticism (yes, I think I just made up that word) of my older pictures makes it up for the poor quality...
 
RMSP changed my life... I now AM a photographer - and it is AWESOME
